Hayley Is Riding A Bike

Hayley participated in a one-day after school cheer camp.
To say she was excited would be an understatement.

While we were walking up to the game, she distanced herself from us, and was walking sort of by some other groups of people and I heard her say "I'm a cheerleader, for real."
So proud of herself, so excited to be out there.

Chaos.

"Mommy you are NOT supposed to be over here. You are supposed to be OVER THERE!"

She loved it and was so pumped.
(Thats her with the white leggings and blue skirt)

Melissa's having twins! Thing 1 Thing 2 theme.
It was so cute.

Sometimes they get along so well. It makes my heart happy.

Devastated to be wearing jeans.

Hayley's school is about 1 mile down the road, so we frequent the playground often.

Hayley learned to ride her bike! Since moving, we've really worked with her on her balance bike. Once she was coasting really good, we decided it was time to give the bike another try, no training wheels. Only about 1-2 days later she had it, and a day or two after that she could start and stop by herself too. So proud of her. Now we're riding all over Gearhart side by side, with just Hobbes in the trailer (thankfully, since it was getting pretty heavy to pull both of them!)

Happy 7 Years

The weather has been amazing. 70's and even 80's on the weekend a few times.
My kind of weather! We've been spending some quality time now that we're all back together  and getting somewhat settled in.

'
Elk herd! Probably 50-60 elk that make their way around the area.

Happy 7th Anniversary!

We went to Clemente's in Astoria.
Afterward, we stopped back at the house and grabbed some wood and chairs and had a bonfire & s'mores on the beach. My favorite! I am so blessed.

Hobbes in bed. We thought we would try and transition to a toddler bed when we moved to Gearhart. It wasn't going well. So I wedged the rocking chair at the foot of the bed, and zip tied one of the crib sides to the toddler bed. That kept him in, for a little until he started crawling over the top of the rocking chair. So finally I took apart the toddler bed, and just set up his crib again.
Surprisingly he was pretty excited to see it!

This is the boardwalk where Skyler proposed.
.happy.

It just wouldn't be right if we could move and get settled without Hobbes getting an ear infection. So he upheld his reputation even though he had tubes put in and had an INCREDIBLE horrible double ear infection. The Dr. couldn't even see the tubes. And holy moly the drainage after antibitotics kicked in... about 10 days after he stopped amox. he broke out in a rash. Some Dr. say its an allergy...some say its not. So I'm divided.

He played in the hospital sink for like 40min while we waited in-between Dr. and nurses.
Poor guy.

Hayley's First Day of School

Just days after moving to Gearhart, Hayley started school,
it was a pretty busy labor day weekend getting ready!

Pretty sure Hobbes thought he was going too...poor guy.

Hobbes: She's got a backpack and shoes on, so do I.
Not sure where I'm going but this is going to be great!

(still confused)
....wait, what is happening right now?..

WHAT SHE'S GONE?!?

So brave. Love her. So ready to learn.
Happy First Day at School Hayley!

So long Pullman!

Since Skyler needed to report to his new job pretty fast, he packed everything he could fit in his car and we were set to have 17 days apart. It was a rough 17 days. Luckily my mom came part way to help me tie up ends and finish packing.

Since I've moved 9 times in 9 years... I've learned a few things about the process.
Get rid of everything you don't absolutely need, and try to sell those things! Moving is expensive!
Schedule yourself. Schedule specific times for packing, cleaning and playing. That way you don't get burned out as fast.

We had some hard moments in those 17 days. We also had some silly ones.

Movies with friends, Thomas family, we will miss you!

My friend Leslie's daughter was baptized just before we left and I was able to take some scraps from her wedding dress and make Payton a special baptism dress.

Hayley sure enjoyed some quiet time jamming with head phones on the patio.

Playdates with friends.

One last Lentil Festival

Traditional photo in front of the Lentil chili pot. This was the first year it wasn't 100 degrees, sweltering hot. It actually down-poured right after this picture.

Sunday selfie.

One last visit to Kamiak Butte.

(Ashley Teare, Samm Child, Mindy White, Me, Kira Miller, Rhea Booth)

Sweet Mutiny good-bye party with my Student ward ladies. I will miss you gals! And I already miss all those who aren't in this picture!!

Mom and I decided to take the drive and check out Steptoe Butte before we moved. It was amazing. It was hot, but clear, the signs say you can see 200miles. At the top you seriously have a 360 view.

At the bottom, we stopped at probably the last wheat field to be harvested. (and the tractor was coming!) There was also this little field of apple trees, all the apples were on the ground and randomly Hayley just started picking them up and chucking them at the tree. Then she stopped and got back in the car. Hehehe.

No filter, no modifications, seriously picture perfect day.

Had to hit up Ferdinand's one last time!

Sunnyside Park one more time!

The "fun" way to watch TV when Mom sells the couch...

(Boston, Jace, Hobbes)

Thomason Playground. So many good times here.

Beautiful Pullman Sunsets.
We had such a great apartment. I wouldn't trade our experience in Pullman for anything. I will truly cherish the friendships I've made there. Living in this apartment saved me. Having friends always around was such a blessing. Being in a centrally located place was awesome. We could and did walk everywhere. Pulling the kids around town and even to Moscow a few times on my bike. Walking to park playdates all summer long, to the church for walking group. I learned to love the hills.

August 29 came, and so did a whole bunch of sweet friends from our ward(s) and Skylers work.
The Truck was loaded in 45min. We had pizza and floats and said goodbyes.

Saturday morning we finished cleaning, turned in the keys and played at the playground one last time.
We made a pretty uneventful 8hr drive from Pullman to Gearhart.
Where we unloaded everything into a storage unit, had some dinner that Lynn & Joell had graciously waiting for us. and we collapsed into bed.
