Fire Station trip!

Last week, our playgroup took a trip to the Fire Station!

Hayley and friends

I didn't know a shoe box size plastic bin could be so comfortable.

An amazing friend of mine, Laurel, took this picture of Hayley and I at the Fire Station. That is why it looks 100x better then all my other pics. :) Thanks Laurel!

I have noticed that the sunsets here are amazing, also this is the view from our front windows. It doesn't do the hills total justice though. The day after I snapped this picture they plowed the fields and now everything that was gold is now brown. Not nearly as pretty but we're adjusting.

Project week continued..

I decided to continue last weeks goal of getting things finished into this week. However, I came down with some kind of cold/flu that slowed things a bit. I fought it hard, averaging 6,ooo mg of vitamin C a day thanks to Emergen C packets. Until, I talked with a friend who is a nurse and advised me to back it off a little, but I'm feeling better now.
So-last weekend:

Polka dot skirt

Monday: Started 9 skirts, almost done but not ready to post.
Tuesday: Finished the hat with single flower and started Hayley' s hat with the double flowers.
Finished on Thursday.

Wednesday: I remembered I had some candy corn fabric and made Hayley a paper-bag style skirt, matching hair clip, and stitched some candy corn buttons I found onto the onesie I dyed last week.

Thursday: At project group I finally got around to doing some finishing touches on Hayley's costume, which was a costume that we wore as kids, my dad made! I just had to adjust the straps and make some antennae hair clips.
Friday: After the playgroup Halloween party I decided she needed a matching candy basket...

Hayley's friends at the party!

This week was also the Blazer's first game of the season! Yay!

Finish that project week!

Sunday night we got back from a great trip. Hayley and I flew to SeaTac to visit my family for a few days while Skyler dutifully attended school and work and then made the lonesome drive to Portland, Thursday night. He participated in a golf tournament Friday morning. After playing all week at Grandma and Grandpa's house Hayley and I took the train down to P-town to meet Sky. We stayed the night at a friends and then did some much needed shopping Saturday morning and headed off to Tillamook to watch Skyler's sister, coach the Seaside HS volleyball team. This was a lot of fun since we used to watch her do the playing at PLU. We then headed up the coast to Seaside, spent the night chatting with family and falling asleep on the couch. Sunday morning came all to quick and we started the long drive home to Pullman. Which was when Skyler asked me "So, is the 3rd bedroom going to be the craft room or am I going to be able to study in there ever?" Which is how I got to this goal of finishing as many projects as I can this week.
Here is what I have so far: (keep in mind, this isn't start to finish in a week, just finishing)

Monday: 2 of these blue dresses. Finished up lining, buttons & holes.

Tuesday: 3 of these cherry jumpers. Finished buttons and ribbons

14 Sippy cup leashes, start to finish.

2 of the cherry fabric skirts, just had to attach to the elastic.

Wednesday: Finished the hat and made the flower. I took a nap during Hayleys nap, making it a lesser productive day :)

Thursday: 2 of these flower skirts finished seams and attached to..what's that? Hand dyed elastic?! hmm :) Thought I'd try it out.

And for kicks, another shot of Hayley in a box.

Hayley's first ride with a boy, at least it's Superman though, right?

Guess she didn't like him that much after all.

Thanks for reading the dribble! Again, I'm going to make an effort to post more. Also there are no pics from our big trip because I forgot to take any. oops.

Silence

We made it! A small recap from my previous post- we moved to Pullman, WA for Graduate school. It made for a busy busy summer, as each of us had things in Portland we wanted to do one last time, before saying good-bye. And so, we've been out making friends, exploring our new area and adjusting to a busy school/work/home/work/church schedule.

An update on Hayleybug- she is a climbing, running, snacking, hug giving, chatting, book worm. Lately since she's mastered heaving her body onto anything she can, she reallllllllly likes it when I leave the craft room/study room door open. Which is where the above chair is located.

Dining room...

Also one of her favorites is this wash bin we keep her bath toys in. She thoroughly enjoys pushing it between the tub and toilet and plops down onto anything already in the bin.

A Hayley Funny:

Recently on our drive home we were stopped behind a horse trailer. The trailer started rocking, a lot. Turns out there was a cow inside that had turned around and was now looking right at Hayley. We said "Look it's a cow!" and she freaked out! Turned her head to get away, grasped my hand as hard as an 18mos could and cried.
