Sunriver Archibald Reunion

For Spring Break Skyler's immediate family all got together for a few days. It was awesome.
We stayed at this place called Conifer Lodge. It was huge, plenty of space for everyone. There were tons of trails and bikes to use, a big park close by and passes to the water park down the road, and the biggest hot tub in Sunriver was on the back deck. Yes it was big.
The only thing I am disappointed in, is my lack of pictures to show for it. We also went to a local bowling alley one day, which was pretty entertaining to see all the kids getting into it...and beating our scores (in our defense they were using the bumper lanes.)

Funny, not so funny story:
Two years ago we visited Bend with Skyler's family. We went to church with a fussy Hayley.
Ended up in the ER for ear infections. Granted she'd been out of sorts for 2 whole days by then, (hey we were new at diagnosing ear infections ok.)

This trip: Hobbes had been a little out of the norm and fussy the prev. day. Sunday at church he's crazy fussy and I notice he's got crusty's around one ear. Back to the same ER as before. Inner and Outer ear "infrlections" as Hayley says it. We were in the same room even. Bend is fun but, come on kids! Too many similarities.

Ok, back to more interesting things, I brought a bunch of "Minute to Win It" games to play with the kids during down time. I had a blast watching them try to figure them out.

Just a few...
.

Carry 5 paper bags cut into different heights across the room using only your head.

With Hayley's tights on their head and a baseball in the toe, the had to knock over 10 water bottles. The kids were surprisingly really good at this one.

Blow a paper cup down the length of the table using a straw.
This one was hard for a couple reasons, I didn't have enough straws so they had to use half straws, the table was also like 8-9ft long and wavy since it was planks from a tree.

Too funny. This one you had to move a cookie down from your forehead to your mouth.

There were a few other games too, but lastly they had to build towers out of cups and take them down again in a minute. There were some really nicely shaped "towers".
All in all, what a fun age to do these creative activities, just being able see all the different solutions their brains came up with.

This was the big park. Just like at Christmas, Hayley and Melina were inseparable.

We had such a fun time with everyone and were sad to all have to disperse again at the end of the trip. But....a HUGE thank you to Lynn and Joell for making it possible. Organizing activities, finding the lodge, providing food and smiles etc.

Happy St. Patty's!

I grew up having Corned Beef and Cabbage just about every year I can remember for St. Patricks day.
I am not about to tell you I made Corned Beef and Cabbage from scratch,  since cabbage and corned beef aren't up there in my favorite things, sorry mom.
I did however manage to make Hayley a little rainbow treat bag
with a gold coin at the end. (Thanks Pinterest!)
Surprisingly though she didn't care too much about it. I think *ahem* if I may say so myself, we have brainwashed her thus far to not be too interested in sweets. (insert silent victorious fist pumps)

Lewiston, ID

My beautiful Hayley...

In the midst of Winter we hit a couple nice days, so we went down to Lewiston, about 45min drive.
One nice thing about Lewiston (other than the fact that there is a Costco across the river) is that it's typically 10 degrees warmer than Pullman. So it felt especially nice.

There is a really nice park right by the river, Hayley enjoyed "driving" us on the play train.

(Hey look! A picture of me made it onto our blog!)

TIMEOUT!

I'll take a timeout from posting about the kids to recognize all the hard work and time away Skyler has put in to this year's basketball season.

Yesterday he concluded the 2012/13 season of Officiating Basketball.

In case you were wondering, that's:

52 games

53 teams

31 partners

3,600 miles driven.

....in addition to his 9-5 at WSU.

Way to go Sky, thank you for working so hard for our family,
I love you!

Looking forward to a couple weeks of down time until Baseball/Softball starts.

Happy Valentines!

A happy day indeed, Skyler sent me flowers and I had two helpers helping me in the kitchen.
