Cougar game and Autumn Adventures

Hayley and I went to our first Cougar football game which even included some tailgating with some of Skyler's coworkers.

Traditional Pullman photo in front of the Cougar

Mom and Dad came to town for a visit! Dad took Hayley around town to the Science ctr. and then out for lunch at Cougar Country. Meanwhile Mom joined myself and a couple friends at the Troy craft fair. It was a tiny fair in a tiny town, but we had fun nonetheless.

Silly girl

I help her stick the pieces in but she tells me right where to put each one :)

Hayley was so sweet and presented me with "dinner"
(A colander with some dry bow tie noodles, a lid and a spoon)
What a sweetie.

Mommy/Daughter trip

At the end of September/first weekend of October, Hayley and I snagged a chance to visit both my parents and Skyler's family for Ben's first game in their new stadium.

Hayley and I drove over to my parents for a night and then met up with Joell and buzzed up to Vancouver B.C. to see Ben's game and celebrate Ashlyn, Tessa & Kylee's 4th birthday!

There was a lot of celebration downtown in Vancouver....including these funny guys singing in some very unique suits to say the least :)

Lions tunnel...

Sarah McLaughlin even came to sing the Canadian national anthem!
Ben's team did great! We had an awesome time at the game.

The next day we went to this indoor play place "Go Bananas" where the girl's had a party with friends and family. It took Hayley a solid hour or more to get comfortable playing. But once she did....

Sunday Joell drove Hayley and I back my parents where we finished watching conference and had dinner with Grandma Forbes.

September=School

This September, Skyler (hopefully) had his last first day of school!
(He wouldn't let me take his picture in front of the door though)

Hayley started Pre-School! (sort of) It's called P.S. I love you, a mommy and me co-op kind of pre-school.
She was happy to oblige to the picture in front of the door on our first day.

This one is looking down around the corner of the door. She fell asleep on the floor for the first time during nap!
With all the important items: sippy, Elmo, monkey, sheep and no less than 2 blankets of course. (I think that's a little lego person by the monkey, not usually in the repertoire though)
The next day she fell asleep literally right in front of her door and I had to nudge my way in to put her in bed.

On what we thought would be our last warm week of the season, we had a lovely picnic at Sunnyside park with some friends....and lots of hungry ducks!

So here we are, Happy Fall! We're expecting almost 90 degrees this weekend!

This is Hayley's new play table! I'm so excited to reveal my re-do!
One day while getting Hayley out of the car to come inside I spied this older lady harping at her grandson to get all this stuff into the trunk to haul away...when I spotted this little table packed with a half a bathtub worth of mega blocks. (I know because I had to wash and sanitize them) Somehow I gathered enough courage to ask her if she was indeed getting rid of the toys. She said yes and that I could have it! The table weighed probably 45lbs and was full of dead bugs and spider web ridden blocks, but I hauled it up and decided it would be the perfect kids table!

I took out 20 square top painted over 4inch screws (hard core for a kids table, no?) stripped off the heavy circle on top and the pieces on the sides. Sanded and painted, re-glued the mega block building pad and ta-da!
My lil' girl LOVES it.

What do you think!?

Sill Hay

Hayley's language skills have rapidly improved this summer.
She's been saying some funny things. Like "Sill Hay" (Silly Hayley, insert whomever name she's nearest)

At nap time last week:
"I go check a mommy."
"I go check a daddy."   (door opens)
"DONT SCARRDA ME!" as she chucks the troll out and shuts the door.

Lately she's been playing with this little caterpillar she got from a friend.
Yesterday at Breakfast, I went to get her, her favorite lime yogurt.

She says to me: " No eata caterpiller ogurt."
Apparently I was mistaken when I thought I had bought lime yogurt ;)

She was really hungry that night I guess...

Last week while Skyler and I were talking in the car from Clarkston to home (30min) she wouldn't stop yelling at us.
"NO! NO A TALKING! STOP A TALKING! DADA, NO A TALKING.
MOMMMMMYYYY NO A TALKING. STOP!"

Birthday's & Traveling

During our stay in Seaside we went in to Portland to do a little joint celebrating of our birthday's.
We went to the Farmer's Market and got some of our favorite cookies while oogling all the fresh peaches, berries and tomatoes.

Then we walked down to one of our favorite spots, Mother's Bistro, for a delicious lunch.
It was a beautiful day, reminiscing of mornings and afternoons spent crossing through Pioneer Square and riding the MAX to and from work.

One of our birthday traditions for the last couple years has been to drive through the Willamette Valley, feasting our eyes on the pretty orchards and vineyards.  We'd usually stop at a fruit stand for some fresh peaches, but we took a slightly different route this year and didn't find a stand.

Lately on long car rides Hayley has taken  to hiding under her blanket, to either take a nap or giggle profusely while singing ABC's. Not sure which one she was doing in this pic.

We had a great time in Portland, even if it was only for a half day.

At the end of our stay we drove up to Canada to see Skyler's brother and family. Skyler's Mom and his sister's came too. We ditched the kids and got to go to Ben's game that night. And they won!

On my actual birthday we went to Fort Langley. An outside museum of sorts from 1800's? Lots of cool stuff for the kids to explore. Later we all went out to the pool for a relaxing afternoon followed by BBQ.

It was just a quick trip, on our way out we stopped by the BC temple.
Hayley loved walking around. It was beautiful.

Back at home now, our last, first week of school is over for Skyler. Yay!
Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. (and for the heat to die down.)
